Truro is the Capital of the Duchy of Cornwall, a characteristic, charming City that is well known for its cobbled streets, grand Georgian buildings and the magnificent Truro Cathedral located at its heart.
Truro is the only city in the county of Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is the administrative centre and the most southerly city in Great Britain.
The city first grew to be an important centre of trade thanks to its port, later on because of its role as a stannary town for the UK mining industry. Today the city of Truro is the centre for administration, leisure and retail in Cornwall and has a population of just over 20,000 from the 2001 census.
The city is well-known for its cathedral which was completed in 1910, as well as its beautiful cobbled streets, open spaces and many examples of grand Georgian architecture. It is also the location of the Royal Cornwall Museum and the Hall for Cornwall.
