Renfrewshire is one of 32 unitary council areas in Scotland bordering the south-west of Glasgow containing many of Glasgow's commuter towns and villages. Renfrewshire also borders North Ayrshire, East Renfrewshire, Inverclyde and West Dunbartonshire. Renfrewshire is one of Scotland's smallest areas outside of its cities yet is still one of the country's most populated areas because of its geographical location close to Glasgow.
