1. Bailrigg FM is the student radio station of Lancaster University, operated by an elected subcommittee of the Student's Union (LUSU). Bailrigg FM provides news and entertainment across the University's campus (known as Bailrigg) to staff and students on 87.7 FM. It is one of only a handful of student radio stations in the UK to broadcast non-stop on FM.

5. Portsmouth University radio experience, The student radio station. PURE:FM was first launched in 1994 as a student radio station with the potential to broadcast to more than 60,000 16 to 30 year-olds in Portsmouth. 10 years on and PURE:FM is still going strong. 7. The Student Radio Association Student Radio in the UK is now thirty years old, with some eighty student radio groups active across the country. Student radio stations perform a number of functions at the universities and colleges where they are based - they offer a radio service geared specifically to the student and youth population in the local area, they offer students interested in pursuing a career in broadcasting an opportunity to get hands on experience.
