Leeds is a city and metropolitan district in West Yorkshire, England. It is the fourth most populated city in England in terms of its designated city limits. taken from the 2001 UK census, the Leeds Urban area had a population of 443,247. The City of Leeds metropolitan district has a population of 750,200 which is a mid-2006 estimate. Leeds is one of England's core cities.
The city has fantastic transport links with the north and south of England connecting with M62, A1, M1. It is also home to some big names in sport being the home of the mighty Leeds Utd in football, Leeds Rhinos in Rugby League and Leeds Carnegie in Rugby Union.
The University of Leeds is home to more than 30,000 students in term time and is considered by many to be at the forefront of English education, student's can also study at Leeds Metropolitan University.
