The West Midlands Region - is located in the centre of Great Britain, it includes the counties of Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire, Staffordshire and Warwickshire as well as the seven Metropolitan boroughs of Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall and Wolverhampton. The West Midlands region represents the heartland of Great Britain; geographically, industrially, and economically.
The region contains the large conurbation that includes Birmingham and Wolverhampton, but also covers the predominantly rural shire counties of Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
