Granta Punt Hire Company Established in 1993 as a small boat hire station situated on the lower college river, Granta has steadily grown into a successful company proud of its reputation of traditional service and value. All punts are traditionally hand crafted, made from kaya mahogany and built locally in Huntingdon. Punt poles are made from Douglas Fir by Bossoms Boat Yard, and the canoes are imported from Old Town in Maine, USA. Today, with over 30 boats available for hire along two routes, visitors can choose to punt themselves or to take a tour with a student guide.
